Pancakes

American speciality, a variety of which can be found in Great Britain, made from a thick pancake batter.

In the USA, American pancakes are sometimes referred to as hotcakes, griddlecakes and flapjacks. The pancakes eaten traditionally by the British, in the United Kingdom, on Pancake Tuesday (Mardi Gras) are similar to crêpes only slightly thicker.
